Calcutta: In his very first appearance in IPL IX, Ashok Dinda turned out to be a super hit.

Precisely, his first spell that removed Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner was pivotal in helping Rising Pune Supergiants secure a crucial victory (34-run via D/L Method) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

MoM Ashok Dinda celebrates after taking one of his three wickets

Adjudged Man of the Match for his wonderful spell of 4-1-23-3, Dinda owed his success to his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"I'm very happy with this effort of mine. The wicket was good for fast bowlers and I ensured to maintain the correct line and length. That's it...

"Dhoni is someone who always helps me bowl well. He had told me how to bowl to and restrict the likes of Naman Ojha and other batsmen," Dinda said at the post-match presentation.

In fact, Dinda's accurate line dismantled Naman's stumps before the latter could do any serious damage.

And on each occasion he struck, Dinda's celebration resembled that of Portuguese and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. "I'm a big Ronaldo, so that's why you saw those celebrations," he said.

Besides Dinda, Mitchell Marsh and Ravichandran Ashwin too were spot-on. No wonder captain Dhoni was all praise for his bowlers.

"We never thought about rain being a factor. The reason we bowled first is because the wicket normally stays good.

"Our bowlers exploited the conditions really well. All the fast bowlers hit the right length and Ashwin was also able to bowl the way he normally does. When you take wickets in the first few overs, spinners generally don't feel the pressure," Dhoni said.

Talking about this much-need win, Dhoni said: "It's important to win matches. We had only one victory out of our first five games. And to qualify for the last-four stage, you cannot lie in the middle of the table.

"At present, there are quite a few teams that are on four or six points and in our case, I think we are within reach."

"Overall, the batsmen and the fast bowlers had a good day out. And for me, playing for another 5 years would be good."

Fielding is one area, Dhoni admitted, the Supergiants need to improve on. "Fielding is something we aren't great in, but we do need some luck.

"There are a few average and slow fielders in the side, which means we may have to score 10-15 extra runs. Today luckily, the ball went to the good fielders," he quipped.

On the other hand, his counterpart Warner rued the Sunrisers' poor batting after being put in.

"This wasn't what we expected. We made it look like they bowled well. A couple of half-trackers went straight to the hands of the fielder.

"The boys tried hard. But when you lose wickets in clumps, it's tough to build momentum," Warner said.

With Yuvraj Singh and Kane Williamson close to making a return, Warner urged his men to bounce back as they still have two more home matches.

"We have two more games at home coming up to try and bounce back. Yuvraj and Kane are close to returning. We'll have to see what combination we can come out with in our next match."

Sunrisers' in-form man Moises Henriques too had an off-day with both bat and ball. But he too believes that the return of Yuvraj and Williamson will solve most of the problems for his team.
