Mumbai: In the tournament’s biggest upset so far, Mahindra United sans five injury-hit players defeated Dempo 3-1 in the 12th round of the ONGC I-League here on Saturday.

In the 18th minute when Sukhwinder Singh intercepted the wrong clearance by defender Mahesh Gawli in the box and passed through John Dias to net the ball with his strong left-footer.

Andrews Mensah increased the home team’s lead in the 32nd minute.

Douhou completed the scoreline the 55th minute. Dempo restored parity through Ranty Martin just before regulation time.

Meanwhile, in Ludhiana, Sunil Chhetri scored once and set up the second to help JCT score an easy 2-0 win over Viva Kerala.

JCT failed to stamp their authority in a scoreless first half but showed their mettle in the second with Chhetri in the thick of things.
