Calcutta: West Indies pace legend and the team's bowling consultant, Curtly Ambrose, has backed Darren Sammy and Co. to win the coming World T20.
According to Ambrose, the squad comprises several match-winners suited for the format.
"Look at the team that we have.
"Half of the players in this team are in demand for different T20 leagues across the world," Ambrose was quoted as saying by an Antigua-based daily.
"So you may find one guy here, maybe two in this league and two in another league.
"But we have all at once, so we have a great chance of winning the World T20... Just look at our squad."
Ambrose called on West Indies' senior players to raise their game and guide the juniors. West Indies might be without Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine, but there's still enough experience and firepower in Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Sammy.
"The senior players - Samuels, Gayle, Andre Russell, captain Sammy - have to lead from the front," Ambrose said.
"From my experience over the years, when the senior players - the guys that we expect to really take the mantle and take the team forward - are doing well, automatically, the younger players will step up to the plate."
The West Indies players were caught up in a row with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) over contracts recently, but Ambrose stressed that it wouldn't affect the side's performance.
"From what I have been reading, the players and the Board have worked their problems out and the guys have signed the contracts.
"So I don't expect any problem because if they didn't want to go, then they wouldn't have signed.
"The main fact is they have signed, so I think everything should be a smooth sailing going forward," he said.
West Indies are currently ranked No. 3 in the ICC rankings for T20 Internationals. They begin their campaign on March 16 against England in Mumbai.
