He epitomises flamboyance - call him a magician with the willow or his exemplary grit that has helped him conquer cancer, Yuvraj Singh is a name etched in our hearts forever.

The southpaw who vented his ire at English pacer Stuart Broad (decimating him with six consecutive sixes in the inaugural ICCT20) following his verbal duel with Andrew Flintoff, is rated as one of the biggest match-winners in the truncated versions of the game.

As the Chandigarh lad turns 40 today, wishes have been pouring in from the cricketing fraternity. The 2011 World Cup hero may have announced his retirement from international cricket, but make no mistake - his popularity is unflinching. Right from his idol Sachin Tendulkar and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to IPL franchises like Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, there is no dearth of affection for the former India all-rounder.

Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, "Happy birthday Yuvi! Have spent some of my most memorable moments with you on and off the field. Look forward to many such moments.... Wish you a great day and year ahead soooperstar @YUVSTRONG12."

"You make everything look easy Prince be it on the field or of it! May god bless u with a long & healthy life @YUVSTRONG12," tweeted his former teammate Gautam Gambhir

"Birthday isn't the only thing common to Rajni Sir and my dear friend Yuvraj Singh. They make us believe in miracles, they bring smiles to the faces of millions. Bhai ko pyaar, sir ko salute. @rajinikanth @YUVSTRONG12," Mohammad Kaif, with whom he steered India to victory in the historic 2001 NatWest Trophy final captioned a photo of Yuraj Singh alongside another birthday boy superstar Rajnikanth to wish both.

"Happy birthday @YUVSTRONG12! Thank you for inspiring an entire generation and showing us what it means to "never give up," Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captioned an image of Yuvraj.
