"Whatever format u see..whatever the colour of the jersey u wear ..none beats such a game of test cricket ..no comparison@bcci @ICC..let's keep this format the pinnacle ..," tweets BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly.

Yes for a person who resurrected his international career through Test matches, it is not a surprise that he will put his money on the longest format of the game.

And the former Indian skipper, has words of praises for English captain Joe Root whose match-winning knock saw his team through against New Zealand in the first Test at Lord's. "Joe Roooooooot ..what a player what a knock under pressure ..an all time great ..@bcci @icc," Dada posted on Twitter.

Such words coming from the legend who has amassed 7212 runs in 113 Test matches, lend credence to the pertinence of Test cricket especially amid the advent of T20 cricket. The rise of T20 does not sound music in the ears of the Test fanatics, yet its rise has found acceptance in today's fast age.

However, it is important to note that Dada's eulogy on Root can open a Pandora's Box at a time, when former Indian skipper Virat Kohli hasn't had a Test hundred for more than two years.

With speculations flying that the two do not share the best of rapport especially following the 'ouster' of Kohli as leader, Dada's remarks could be interpreted as a 'dig' at his ex-captain who has been struggling to hit a purple patch.

Now, it remains to be seen, whether the five-day format withstands the 'onslaught' of T20 and continues to churn out top class cricketers and most importantly, how Kohli takes such a eulogy on one of his fierest rivals.
