Ranji Trophy: Bengal fight after follow-on

Home team gathered their pieces well and reached 220/3 in their second essay at the end of the day

Bengal were made to follow-on by Odisha in their Ranji Trophy Group A game at Eden Gardens on Thursday, Day III of the game.

Odisha quicks Suryakant Pradhan and Sunil Roul shared six wickets among them as Bengal were bundled out for just 100 in reply to the opponent’s first-innings score of 265. The home team, however, gathered their pieces well and reached 220/3 in their second essay at the end of the day. Abhimanyu Easwaran was batting on 94 while captain Manoj Tiwary was on 50.

Bengal, who have already qualified for the quarters, enjoy an overall lead of 55 so far and it will be interesting to find out if they go for a bold declaration on Friday.
