India have had a smooth ride so far in the Women’s Asia Cup. It could well continue in this fashion for the Indians as they face Thailand in the semi-final here on Thursday.

India had crushed Thailand on Monday in a game that turned out to be a huge mismatch. India skittled their opponents out for just 37 runs in 15.1 overs to run away with an easy win in the league phase.

Thailand would obviously look to do better than their previous batting effort now that they are in the last-four stage. But whether they will be able to do so against a much stronger Indian team remains to be seen.

For India, the tournament came as a perfect opportunity to test their bench strength and give their less-experienced players enough game time ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played in only three of their six league-phase matches and even dropped down to No.7 against Pakistan.
