Calcutta: The Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) had an unexpected visitor on Friday.
Actress Chitrangada Singh came to see Jyoti Randhawa and son Zoravar at the RCGC.
After a quiet breakfast, Chitrangada followed Randhawa and his group for over two hours before taking a lunch break.
Chitrangada was cheering Randhawa all the while and also was seen giving some 'tips' on the swing after the ace golfer teed off on the second hole.
"I had come to Calcutta yesterday for an awards function... I have come at the RCGC to meet my son. I will be leaving tomorrow," Chitrangada told The Telegraph as Randhawa got ready to play his second shot on the fourth hole, on the second day of PGTI's year-ending McLeod Russel Tour Championship.
Incidentally, he had an eagle on the hole and a loud "wow" and claps came from both the mother and the son.
Chitrangada couldn't recall when was the last time she followed Randhawa on the course. "Frankly I do not remember," she said with a smile.
And then, after a pause, she said: "In 2011, I think Zoravar and I were there on the last day of a tournament. But I didn't follow him on the course then."
Well, that was the Crompton Greaves Open, at the Mumbai Presidency Golf Course, in December, when the former Asia No. 1 had won his second PGTI crown of 2011.
For the record, at the same venue, Randhawa had won his first-ever professional title, way back in 1996.
By the way, Randhawa has taken a commanding four-stroke lead at 11-under-133 after Day II. He returned with a card of seven-under 65, on Friday.
Randhawa did not play the third edition of the year-ending meet, here. He finished tied 16th in the first edition and fifth in the second.
