New Delhi: Ronak Pandit continued his impressive run by striking two more gold medals in the junior section of the 10th Asian shooting championship in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
Ronak, who now has seven gold medals from this meet, came up with an excellent score of 545/600 to win the free pistol event, according to information received here.
He also helped India bag the team gold.
Thailand’s Sirivorawet had to settle for silver on the last card basis despite shooting the same score as Pandit.
The bronze went to another Indian, Zakir Khan, who tallied a score of 535.
The Indian team of Pandit, Bhrigu Dutt and Khan claimed the gold with an aggregate score of 1609 points out of 1800.
Thailand won the silver with 1559 and Malaysia the bronze with 1481.
In women’s skeet shooting, Aarti Singh reached the final but finished in sixth place with a score of 87 (64+23).
Meanwhile, National Rifle Association of India secretary general Baljit Singh Sethi has been elected as vice-president of the Asian Shooting Confederation, according to information received here on Monday.
