Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul was happy with the team spirit that was evident and was all praise for Mandeep Singh, who recently lost his father, after their comprehensive eight-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah on Monday.

“I am very happy... We collectively decided to go out there and play positive cricket. And things can turn around. A different person is putting his hand up at different times. I am happy that everything is coming together. Fingers crossed that we can win a few more games.

“The kind of toughness Mandeep has shown has rubbed on to the others. Everybody is emotional. They are putting their hands up, just to be there, just to finish off the game. That makes us so proud. And when we have Anil Kumble as coach, it is no surprise we are playing two leg-spinners. He always had that in mind.”
