Angul: A 19 year-old tribal girl was gangraped by two youths here. Acting on the complaint of the victim, Chhendipda police detained the accused persons on Wednesday.

Though the incident occurred on June 5, the girl reported the matter to the police on June 26. The victim had been to Tikira rivulet near her village to attend nature's call. Two youths of her village raped her there one after another. They also recorded the incident on their phone.

In the complaint, she named two youths -Laxman Behera and Pintu Behera - of her village.

"When I went to the nearby rivulet they raped me. I could not file a complaint as my father advised me not to make the incident public. The culprits had made a video they shared it online. They also threatened to kill me if I disclose the matter to anyone. I demand action as per law," said the victim in her complaint. "We have registered a case of gang rape. We also immediately arrested both the culprits," said a police official.
