Cuttack, May 24: Police today arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in a bombing case at the house of Central Cooperative Bank (Cuttack) president Birendra Pratap Swain on the basis of CCTV footage
Swain is the elder brother of BJD leader and Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swa-in. The cops, however, refused to disclose the duo's names.
Goons hurled crude bombs at Swain's house at Chandini Chowk around 1am on Monday night. It exploded in the garage. "The two persons we arrested were identified from CCTV footage (installed at Swain's residence)," assistant commissioner of police Pramod Rath said.
The cops are now trying to ascertain the reason behind the attack. Preliminary investigations had revealed that a motorcycle-borne youth, in jeans and a black T-shirt with his face covered in a towel, had thrown the bomb. However, the towel fell off his face at the time of flinging the bomb. Investigations later revealed that it was a two-man operation.
