Mishra was arrested on February 16 following seizure of Rs 2.14 lakh cash from his official vehicle. He had since been remanded in judicial custody and lodged in jail.
"Yesterday, the vigilance court (special) judge, Cuttack, had allowed the state vigilance to take Nayak on remand for two days for further investigation," said special public prosecutor (vigilance) Ajay Pattnaik.
The anti-corruption wing took Mishra on remand to ascertain the details of his foreign trips, acquisition of illegal assets and sources of his income. Travel documents recovered during raids indicate that Mishra frequently visited abroad and had gone to the US, the UK, Canada, and the Netherlands.
"A good amount of money was apparently spent on such trips. Valuation of such trips is being done," a vigilance official said.

"While each team has been assigned specific tasks to expedite the investigation, one team is also inquiring into the alleged misappropriation and irregularities related to issuance of supply orders to various companies - which is suspected to have taken place in the corporation during his tenure," he said.
"The office staff members and other persons, associated with the corporation's functioning, are also being grilled," he said. Mishra had been the corporation's managing director since October 14, 2015. Before this, he was additional secretary to the micro, small and medium enterprises department.
