Bhubaneswar, Nov. 7: Two big-banner Odia movies are set to hit the screens over the next three months.

While Roomku Jhumana, comedian Harihar Mohapatra’s first film as the lead actor, is being given final touches, the mahurat of Mo Dunia Tu Hi Tu, starring hit pair Anubhav and Barsha, was held a few days ago.

“Roomku Jhumaana is the story of the emotional bond between a child and an honest man from the lower middle class. The man brings up the child in the best possible way despite financial and social barriers,” said actor Harihar.

Director Tapas Sargharia has cast Nepali actress Soujanya opposite Harihar while child actor Bhoomika plays the adopted girl. “Though big-banner films starring popular actors are releasing alongside Roomku Jhumaana, our entire crew is full of enthusiasm and hope. Though Harihar is popular as a comedian, he will be seen in a very different role in Roomku Jhumana. We are not using slapstick comedy or crude lines to make people laugh,” said Tapas.

Harihar had planned the script of the movie three years ago. “Performing the lead role has given me a new experience altogether. Though I am excited for having done something completely new in the film, I must say it is not easy to be a hero. I have been injured while performing some stunts without a dummy,” he said.

Made under the banner of Green Return Entertainment, Roomku Jhumana is being produced by Ramachandra Pradhan. Baidyanath Das is the music composer. Shot in Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Hyderabad, the film will release during New Year.

Muhurat of Mo Dunia Tu Hi Tu with Anubhav Mohanty and Barsha Priyadarshini was held at a Hanuman Mandir here a few days ago.

Choreographer-turned-director Sudhakar Basant will direct the film, which is a love story between a thief and a girl from a respectable family.

“After an action thriller like ACP Ranbir, people will get to see Anubhav in an emotional role,” said director Basant. The film is slated to release in February 2013.
