Police said that the anti-socials, after firing in the air at realtor Ramesh Sahoo’s house in BJB Nagar, had fled the spot. They had resorted to blank firing to terrorise Sahoo. “We had to make a lot of efforts to nab the ant-socials as they had fled the spot,” said deputy commissioner of police Himanshu Lal.

The accused persons had several cases registered against them in Bolangir, Brajaraj nagar, Rourkela, Tumudubandha and Baliguda. Police said that accused Bjay Jena was involved in the case of firing at a councillor in Rourkela last year. Sources said the firing in BJB Nagar area was their first crime in the capital.
