Bhubaneswar: A 28-year-old software professional committed suicide on Thursday suspecting his wife of cheating on him.

The deceased, who was from Gadabhingara village in Puri Sadar police limits, took to Facebook Live and spoke about his wife's infidelity before committing suicide.

The body of the youth, who worked with a Bangalore-based software company, was found hanging from a tree a kilometre away from his village early onThursday.

In the 15-minute Facebook Live, he claimed his wife was having an illegitimate affair.

"Her parents lied to me about her past affair with another man before we got married. But she continued her relationship of eight years for which I took her to Bangalore. But her boyfriend sent me some obscene photographs of both of them. She initially denied of having any relationship with him but later confessed," he said.

The deceased also apologised to his mother before taking the extreme step.

"Forgive me mother I could not do anything for you. My life was ruined for that girl and I am forced to take the extreme step," said the man, who appeared to be in tears in the video. Police are investigating the matter.
