Special job fair for BPUT students

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28: Registrations for special requirement drive-2014 at Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) began here today.

The technical education department will conduct the four-day job fair at Kalinga stadium from September 17.

Students can log on to the central placement cells website and click on job fair registrations to get the link http://cpcdtet.nic.in/nijukti.aspx.

Over 1,000 students have so far registered on the website. While registrations are on for BTech, MTech, MBA, MCA, BPharma and MPharma students, the BTech discipline has received the maximum registrations (913) so far. The registered students have to pay Rs 100 through credit card, debit card or any other modes of online payment through any nationalised bank.

In another development, companies, interested in hiring students, have also been asked to register themselves on the website.

President of the BPUT students’ protection council Biplab Prakash Mohanty said: “We are thankful to the state government for having turned our long-standing demand into reality. We appeal to the corporate houses in the state and outside to take part in the placement drive and recruit maximum students.”

The first two days of the drive will be for those who have passed BTech, MTech and MCA. The MBA degree-holders will take part on the third day on September 19, while the last day will be for pharmacy graduates.
