Schedule of 21 trains changed

Bhubaneswar, June 29: Timings of 21 trains run by the East Coast Railway will be changed from July 1.

The changes have been effected keeping in mind introduction of new trains, extension of route and increase in frequency. Shalimar-Chennai-Shalimar weekly super fast will be flagged off on July 3 from Shalimar and on July 5 from Chennai.

Chennai-bound weekly super fast express will leave Shalimar every Tuesday at 12.20pm and arrive at Chennai at 5pm on the next day. In its return journey, the super fast express will leave Chennai every Thursday at 4.15pm and arrive at Shalimar at 9.30pm on the next day. This train will halt at Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam in East Coast Railway jurisdiction.

Apart from this, six new weekly super fast trains including a new weekly Garib Rath express train will ply in the east coast zone.

These trains will run between Visakhapatnam and Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Sai Nagar Shirdi, Visakhapatnam and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Puri and Yesvantpur, Puri and Chennai and Bhubaneswar and Tirupati,

Besides, a new daily link express train will be introduced between Bhubaneswar and Bhawanipatna via Vizianagaram and a new passenger train between Gunupur and Palasa.

One new weekly AC express train will run between Secunderabad and Shalimar. While a new weekly express train will be introduced between Puri and Bikaner, a new tri-weekly express train will run between Durg and Jagadalpur. One new weekly super fast train will also run between Asansol and Chennai via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Vizianagaram.

According to the new timetable to be effective from July 1, Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will leave Bhubaneswar at 11.20am instead of existing scheduled departure at 11.30am.

This train will reach Cuttack at 11.47 am and will leave at 11.49 am. The revised departure schedule of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Odisha Sampark Kranti Express will be 3.25pm instead of 3.40pm. The timings of this train at Cuttack and Jajpur Keonjhar Road have been changed.

Similarly, the timings of Puri-New Delhi Purusottam Express have been changed at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jajpur- Keonjhar Road. From Sunday onwards, Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Satabdi Express will leave Bhubaneswar at 6am instead of 6.20am. The timings of this train at Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road and Bhadrak have also been changed.

The departure schedule of Puri-Howrah Duronto Express has been changed from 6.20am to 6.15am. Puri-Sealdah Duronto Express will leave Puri at 7.45pm instead of 7.50pm, while Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express will depart Puri at 10.30pm instead of 8.50pm.
