Bhubaneswar, Oct. 13: Candidates vying for various posts in tomorrow's students' union elections to be held across all colleges and universities made their last-ditch effort to woo voters today.
Wi-Fi campuses, increased security, placements and filling up of teacher vacancies are some of the promises they made at the "What I stand for" meet.
Candidates showed their strength by holding rallies. The poll fever ran high with the city coming to a halt at different points where students marched through the roads dancing to the beat of drums and dhols. This was followed by speeches where the aspirants spoke about their vision.
"This is my first election. I will take the final decision only after the meeting," said Arpita, a Plus Three first-year student at BJB Autonomous College.
The authorities said that adequate measures had been taken for smooth conduct of the polls tomorrow.
