Artist Sudarshan Patnaik’s sand sculpture on Puri beach on Wednesday urges people to pray for Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad, who was rescued after five days from under 35 feet of ice in Siachen. Koppad was among the 10 soldiers who were buried alive when an avalanche struck the army’s Sonam post in Siachen. The jawan miraculously survived and is now battling for life at Army’s Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.
