Bhubaneswar / Balasore, May 30: Online application for Plus Three admissions will start on June 1 and continue till June 15.
A notification was issued after Plus Two results were announced yesterday. After filling up the common application forms on the department’s official website (www.dheorissa.in), students will have to submit it by June 18 at Sams resource centres.
Officials said that the option of manually filling up admission forms would also be open to students, the deadline for which is June 17.
These offline forms will be made available at the Sams resource centres. There are 677 degree colleges in the state with combined seat strength of over 1.45 lakh.
“The first selection merit list will be published on June 26 and admissions for those aspirants will be conducted between July 1 and 4,” said an official.
Unlike last two years, the department has decided to reintroduce the second selection process. It had been discontinued in 2011 as it was considered to be time-consuming. However, on the flip side, a large number of seats fell vacant after the first selection admission as students who did not make it to the first selection list were debarred from admission.
The second selection list will be out on July 9 and admissions held from July 12 to 14. This will be followed by admission to SC/ST seat extension admission, spot selection and vacant seat enrolment. Classes are slated to begin from July 22.
Students can apply for honours and pass subjects in five streams — arts, physical science, biological science, commerce and self-financing subjects — as was introduced last year. Honours subjects including information technology, biotechnology, computer science, electronics and telecommunications have been included under the self-financing category.
Chemistry is part of the physical science stream.
Instant exam
Students, who failed to clear Plus Two exams in only one paper, can reappear for it in an “instant exam” to be held between June 26 and 28.
Forms will be available from June 3 at colleges to which the unsuccessful students belong.
