Sambalpur, June 26: The comprehensive development plan for greater Sambalpur will shortly be made available to the residents on compact discs (CD).
The Sambalpur Development Authority has taken up initiative in this regard.
On May 31, the development authority accepted greater Sambalpur’s development plan, which was prepared by consultancy firm Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation.
The development authority has published the notification of the comprehensive development plan for information and to invite suggestion from the people.
The copies of the plan have also been made available to the notified area councils, blocks and municipality under the development authority’s area.
The plan will be uploaded on the websites of the government and the development authority.
“The CDs will be given to the stake holders and interested residents. These will be made available to the people within a week at the office of the Sambalpur Development Authority. After the CD is prepared, the residents can easily get to see the plan of greater Sambalpur,” said chairperson of Sambalpur Development Authority Bijaya Kumar Mohanty.
The comprehensive development plan for the greater Sambalpur has covered the municipality area, Burla notified area council and Hirakud notified area council. Moreover, 98 villages of Dhankauda, Rengali and Maneswar blocks, which are located near the city, have also been included in the plan.
The plan has covered 507.83sqkm. Sources said the projected population of the development authority area by 2030 is 5.75 lakh and the number has been taken into consideration while preparing the plan.
