bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) employees have urged the Centre to come up with a comprehensive plan to stop the recurring coal crisis in Nalco. They have sought the intervention of the Prime Minister and concerned ministries in this regard. N.K. Samal, working president of Nalco Employees’ Sangha, smelter unit, said the operation of the smelter has been severely affected due to short supply of coal from the linkage provided to the company by Mahanadi Coalfields. While NALCO requires around 17,000 MT coal daily, we have been receiving only 8,000 MT coal from the source due to heavy rain since last week,” said Samal. Bhubaneswar: Owing to celebration of Biswakarma Puja on Saturday, the City Bus Services in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Khurda will remain suspended from 4pm onwards for the puja celebration. The services of city buses will run as usual from morning to 4pm. BHUBANESWAR: Four persons were killed and five were injured in three separate accidents in the city on Friday. Berhampur: Tension erupted in the City Hospital here after a pregnant lady P. Hemalata, 20, from Jagannathpur in Ganjam district died after delivering a girl child on Friday.
