Cuttack: Property worth Rs 20 lakh was gutted in a fire incident at a transport company at Manikghose bazaar on Thursday . Officials said that bulk of the property in the three-storey transport company building included sarees. Balasore: Sahadevkhunta police on Friday unearthed a 40-day-old murder mystery. The police have arrested the 28-year-old wife of the deceased. The accused, Shanti Das, was produced in thecourt. Pradip Das, 36, was found dead in September. Shanti told the police that her husband committed by suicide. Cuttack: One person was injured in a firing incident at Diwanbazar within Lalbagh police limits on Friday. The youth identified as Abdul Wahid, 32, has suffered a bullet injury near his waist and has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. Two motorcycle borne goons had fired three rounds of bullets at Wahid. Balasore: Soro police on Friday arrested three highway robbers and produced them in court. The accused persons were identified as Avay Das, Ranjan Das and Ramesh Das, all in the age group of 23 to 25. They came on a Pulsar bike and robbed Sudarshan Khuntia, 32, of Gopalpur on Wednesday night while he was returning home. The actress best known for her comedy films had a stroke in her Cuttack home and passed away on the way to the hospital. Bhubaneswar: Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday interrogated Bhubaneswar branch manager of Mineral Metal Trading Corporation (MMTC) Gajendra Patra to find out gold transaction between the company and Seashore Group, a money deposit and collection company. Sources said that the company had delivered around 150 kg of gold to Seashore Group between 2011-12, but the gold is yet to be recovered. Cuttack: Tension prevailed at Ravenshaw University following ransacking of property inside East Hostel and Students’ Union Office by two student groups on Friday evening. Sources said two groups, including some boarders of East Hostel and supporters of winning candidates were at loggerheads after the students’ union election last month got over.
