Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated the first grandmaster of the state, 21-year-old chess player Debashis Das, at the ecretariat on Thursday. Naveen presenting him with a silver filigree memento. Das crossed the requisite 2,500 international elo rating points for chess at the recently-concluded National Challengers Trophy at Bhopal to claim the title. Bhubaneswar: Gopal Mandal, a district voluntary force jawan, was injured in a gun battle between the security forces and Maoists in the forests near Podia in Malkangiri district early on Thursday morning.
