Form fill-up dates

Bhubaneswar: Form fill-up for Plus Two examination under the Council for Higher Secondary Education will be done between January 2 and 8. The examination will be held from March 1 to 30. The online form fill-up will be done by respective colleges through their college e-space (www.dheorissa.in).

CM on polls

Bhubaneswar: A diplomatic Naveen Patnaik on Thursday congratulated the winners of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections without naming them. “I congratulate those, who have won these elections,” said the chief minister, who broke his decade long alliance with the BJP in 2009 and has been extremely critical of the Congress, which happens to be the main Opposition party in the state.

Bhubaneswar: Goons have stolen the belongings of a 25-year-old from the Bhubaneswar railway station after drugging him on Thursday. The youth identified as Ranjan Kumar Barik, was returning from Bangalore to his native place Rajanagar in Kendrapara district. Barik is undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital and is said to be in a serious condition

MPs protest

Bhubaneswar: Protesting against the curtailment of funds in railway budget for Odisha, the BJD MPs on Thursday sat on a dharna near the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the Parliament premises. “The Centre's continued apathetic attitude towards the cause of the State will not be tolerated,” said MP Baishnab Parida.

Pulse polio

Bhubaneswar: State government has decided to launch a statewide pulse polio campaign in two phases on January 20 and February 24, 2013. This was decided by the State Pulse Polio task force meeting, chaired by health secretary P.K. Mohapatra on Thursday.

Bhubaneswar:Odia author Gourahari Das has been chosen for this year’s Kendriya Sahitya Akademi award for his book Kanha O Anyanya Galpa. Among other winners of the Akademi awards from Odisha are Srustisree Naik in the “Yuva Purasakar” category and Prasant Mohanty for translation.
