Berhampur: A 40-year-old patient at the MKCG hospital here had a lucky escape as a ceiling fan fell on his bed at the male surgery ward on Friday. Trinath Behera of Rambha in Ganjam suffered minor injuries when the blades of the fan hit him. The doctors attended to him immediately and the fan was replaced. Bhubaneswar: Odisha was adjudged best state in implementing the central scheme Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana. The state government got the honour for inclusion of 65 per cent BPL families under the scheme. Union labour minister Mallikarjun Kharge presented the award to government officials in Thiruvananthapuram. Balasore: A major part of the town experienced power failure for several hours on Friday following rain and thunderstorm. Executive engineer Sunil Pradhan said an insulator of a sub-station burst, causing the disruption.
