Bhubaneswar: Barsa Swony Choudhury, 24, the daughter-in-law of former law minister Raghunath Mohanty, on Thursday alleged of receiving a threat letter from unknown persons. The letter threatened her of acid attack and also stated derogatory remarks maligning her character, she said. Barsa shot into news last year by bringing allegations of dowry torture against her father-in-law. “Her father has been advised to lodge a compliant with Town police station. Once the complaint is lodged, the letter will be sent for scientific examination,” said Balasore police superintendent Jaynrayan Pankaj Bhubaneswar: Chauliaganj police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a security guard at Potapokhari on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as Bichitrananda Sahu and Babuli Sahu of Tigiria block. Bhubaneswar: Goons allegedly looted the hundi (donation box) of Sai Temple in IRC Village. The incident came to light on Thursday morning when the priest found the donation box outside the temple. He said that the approximate amount of donation inside the box would be around Rs 50,000. The police arrested Susant Kumar Swain after getting a complaint from Deepak Kumar Sahu. Sahu alleged that he was assaulted after an altercation with the auto rickshaw driver over fare.
