Kendrapara: Workers of a private firm engaged in maintenance of electricity lines on Wednesday staged road blockade and paralysed vehicular traffic on the Cuttack-Chandballi state highway. The deceased has been identified as Gouranga Sahu, a native of Manijanga area of Jagatsinghpur district. Bhubaneswar: An engineering student was found dead in his hostel room on Tuesday night in Chandrasekharpur. Police identified the deceased as Koushal Swain, 19, a second-year student at a private engineering college. Swain hailed from Jagatsinghpur district. The hostel authorities informed police when he did not open the room till late in the night. Bhubaneswar: Mancheswar police arrested a youth from the bypass road at Hi-Tech Square near NH-5 while trying to snatch gold chain from a woman. The accused was identified as Deepak Rout, 20, of Mancheswar. Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police recovered the body of a man who committed suicide in his house by hanging himself from the ceiling fan. The man was identified as Santosh Moharana, 35, of Dumduma phase II area. Police said that he had committed suicide over a family dispute. Kendrapara:A 14-year-old schoolboy died of snakebite at Dutiala village within Kendrapara Sadar police limits. The victim Balram Mohanty, a Class X student, was rushed to district headquarters hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
