Murder whiff in Idco case

Family members of super class contractor Gajendra Das, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of Idco Tower on Tuesday, has alleged that the 57-year-old was killed.

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 21: Family members of super class contractor Gajendra Das, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of Idco Tower on Tuesday, has alleged that the 57-year-old was killed.

Gagan Das, the son of the deceased, today said: "My father was under stress as Idco was not clearing his bill of more than Rs 1.7 crore. He had been frequently visiting the Idco office for the payment. I suspect that someone might have pushed him from the building yesterday," said Gagan.

The family members today staged a demonstration in front of the government building demanding a thorough probe into the incident.

Police commissioner R.P. Sharma said preliminary investigation revealed that the contractor might have committed suicide.

"We have found a suicide note on the accused. Our investigation is under way," said Sharma.
