Jajpur, June 8: A madrasa teacher at Vyas Nagar town allegedly molested a Class III student, whom he had been giving private tuition in Urdu for the past one month.

The victim’s father lodged an FIR against the teacher yesterday.

According to the police complaint, the eight-year-old girl was going to the house of Muzafar Hussain, 35, who works as a Urdu teacher in a madrasa at Ahmad Nagar. For the past one month, he had been sexually exploiting her. The teacher also threatened her not to divulge it to anybody or else he would kill her.

“As the teacher continued to sexually abuse my daughter, she developed pain in her private parts and told her mother about it on Wednesday. Her mother informed me about the teacher’s crime, following which I complained to the madrasa management to take action against Hussain. However, the madrasa authorities, instead of punishing him, helped him flee,” said the victim’s father in his complaint.

The police said raids were on to catch him. “We have conducted raids on several places to arrest the accused teacher. We have detained three persons and are interrogating them,” said assistant superintendent of police and in charge of Jajpur Road police station Pinak Mishra.
