Bhadrak: A 45-year-old man gunned down his 40-year-old wife dead with his licensed revolver here on Tuesday following an altercation.

Police have taken Gautam Puhan, a resident of Arjunpur in Dhusuri police limits, into custody and seized his gun for the murder of his wife Annapurna.

Bhadrak police station inspector-in-charge Manoj Rout said the accused was arrested and would be forwarded to court on Wednesday after a medical test and other investigations.

He has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
