Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23: Dipti Ranjan Patnaik, the main accused in the murder of 53-year-old Bachan Sudha Pattanayak on September 11, today denied killing the entrepreneur.
Patnaik was sent back to Jharpada jail after his remand period expired today. Before leaving for jail, he said he did not kill Bachan Sudha and was being implicated.
Police, however, have refused to believe him. They said that apart from greed, there was also some other provocation for him to kill the entrepreneur.
“Though preliminary investigations suggested that robbery was the intent behind the murder, it has now been revealed that Dipti was not being treated properly by his employer. That might also be one of the reasons behind the crime,” said a senior police official.
Sources said the report of the psychoanalysis test carried out on the security guard would reach the police tomorrow. The cops will submit the report before a local court.
Dipti was subjected to a psychoanalysis test on Thursday. Asha Shrivastav, a clinical psychologist from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in New Delhi, who also working for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), had conducted the test.
The test included questions to find out the involvement of more than one person in the crime.
