Bhubaneswar, Feb. 13: A girl student pursuing a BTech course at a private engineering college here was today found having used forged certificates to get admission.
The OJEE cell detected the forgery during document verification of students, who had taken admission under the 10 per cent NRI quota. The girl hails from Jharkhand.
OJEE secretary Priyabrata Sahoo said: “We have informed the authorities concerned about the matter. The student had furnished fake Plus Two certificates and her admission will be cancelled.”
The admission for the 10 per cent NRI quota has been mired in controversy until the state government last week agreed to include these students along with the other OJEE-2012 qualified students. The state government had been arguing that these students were admitted without permission of the government and, hence, had refused to recognise them or conduct exams for them. No counselling was held for the students during OJEE-2012.
