Berhampur: Prince Dance Group, which came to prominence after winning a national reality show (India's Got Talent) in 2009, won hearts with their breathtaking performance at Khallikote College Stadium here on Friday.
"The use of plastic has posed a grave danger to the environment as well as the future of human race and there an is urgent need to ban the use of plastic. That was the theme of the dance that was performed," said T. Krishna Mohan Reddy, the guru and the founder of Prince Dance Group.
The performance was staged on the 151st Local Self-Government Day of the Berhampur Municipal Corporation on Friday.
The duration of this dance was 8.24 minutes and 22 members of the group took part in it. "We used this theme for the first time on any stage," said Krishna.
"Municipal commissioner Chakravorty Singh Rathore contacted me a fortnight ago for a dance performance on this theme. It took five days to finalise the choreography. Then we practiced for two hours every day," Krishna said.
Bollywood film actress and model Zareen Khan, who has become the civic body's brand ambassador, saw the performance and was very impressed.
"The use of plastic must be completely banned and it is the moral duty of all of us to implement it," she said.
Finance minister Sashi Bhushan Behera, who was chief guest at the programme, said theme was relevant not only for Berhampur but for the entire world.
