Sikhs pray at Gurdwara Singh Sabha at Kharavela Nagar in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

Called Prakash Parv, the festival witnessed devotees from near and far paying respects to the 10th Sikh guru at the gurdwara. Guru Gobind Singh was anointed as the spiritual leader of the Sikhs at the age of nine and is known to have initiated the five ‘K’s that the Sikhs devotedly abide by.

People across ages sweated it out at the langar or community kitchen that is an inherent part of Sikhism. Gurbani Kirtan was hosted and religious scriptures were read out. Akhand Path, the continuous recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib that began on January 3 concluded at 10am on Thursday.
