Students shifted 

Bhubaneswar: The  government on Wednesday completed the admission process of the students of Sardar Rajas Medical College. The authorities of the directorate of medical education and training  said all the 124 students of the college in Kalahandi district had been provisionally admitted to two government-run medical colleges and three private institutions.  

Urdu Akademi

Bhubaneswar: Sayeed Mashir Alem of Cuttack has been appointed as secretary of Urdu Akademi. The post had been lying vacant for a long time.

CM direction 

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday directed the health department for early procurement of equipment to strengthen blood banks. He said the state action plan for strengthening blood transfusion services must be strictly followed to ensure ultimate safety. He also advised officials to encourage voluntary blood donation.

PPT chairman 

Paradip: Rinkesh Roy on Wednesday assumed charge as the chairman of the Paradip Port Trust. A 1992-batch IRTS officer, he had worked in various capacities in the railway operations department.
