Pact signed

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation signed an agreement with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership, New Delhi for providing coaching to students belonging to the economically and socially backward castes for all-India level competitive examinations. CSRL will pick up 30 students from the state and provide them 11 months training for IIT entrance examinations. Around Rs 2.5 lakh will be spent on each students.

Suicide

Balasore: A woman and her mother-in-law committed suicide after consuming poison on Friday. The deceased were identified as Purnima Behera, 20, and Subasini Behera, 45, of Sarangbag of Ranasahi under Sadar block.

Railway line

Bhubaneswar: Container Corporation of India Limited (Concor) will take part in the construction of the Angul-Sukinda railway line, a crucial railway project. Chairman and managing director of Concor, Anil Kumar Gupta, has already handed over the consent letter and released Rs 100 crore out of their total equity amount of Rs 156 crore to the managing director of Angul-Sukinda Railway Limited, Dilip Kumar Samantaray in Delhi.

Firing

Sambalpur: Two persons suffered injury in a firing incident at Brjarajnagar of Jharsuguda district on Thursday. They have been identified as Roshan Jha, 24, and Padma Lochan Dhanik, 23. 

CA firm raided

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided the premises of a chartered accountant's firm at 
Cuttack Road in connection with its investigations pertaining to the operations of the Seashore Group of companies, a money circulation deposit companies.
The deputy director of ED, Ashok Goutam has personally looked after the case.  

IIM location

Bhubaneswar: The state government will soon send its proposal about the location of the Indian Institute of Management. The campus is likely to come up near Bhubaneswar. Another place near Gothapatna is also being considered.
