Sivasagar, April 2: The All Assam Muslim Youth Council today appealed to the people to vote for the Congress, terming it the only party capable of providing a stable, progressive and secular government.

Speaking at a news meet in Nazira, the organisation's president, Abu Sahid Rekibur Rahman, said, "The Centre is ruled by a communal party, whose leaders have been making sentimental speeches at election meetings. They have also termed the ensuing elections as the last battle of Saraighat". He asked voters to be alert about such speeches and false promises of communal forces.
