Training programme by BSF

At least 40 young women were given training on preparation of various bakery products at Dalu, along the India-Bangladesh border on Friday in West Garo Hills at a programme organised by the 183 battalion BSF in collaboration with the Regional Vocational Training Institute, Tura.

Tura, Sept. 13: At least 40 young women were given training on preparation of various bakery products at Dalu, along the India-Bangladesh border on Friday in West Garo Hills at a programme organised by the 183 battalion BSF in collaboration with the Regional Vocational Training Institute, Tura.

The two-day training programme was aimed at providing employment opportunities to young women.

"The participants were imparted training in preparation of various cakes, biscuits, breads and muffins," said T.N.S. Reddy, commandant, 183 battalion, BSF. The institute's principal, G.C. Deka, spoke at length on the need for women's empowerment. He also asked the BSF to organise similar programmes in other border areas for the benefit the people.
