Elaborate traffic management plans have been drawn up for the T20 international between India and Sri Lanka at the ACA Stadium here on Sunday.

“The spectators can reach the stadium through AK Azad Road from Paltan Bazar and Lokhra, while those coming from Gorchuk and Bharalumukh can avail AK Deb Road. There will be designated parking points for the spectators. Restrictions will be imposed at various roads leading to the stadium,” Bhuyan said.

The road connecting Barsapara traffic point on AK Azad Road with Dhirenpara Tinali on AK Deb Road will be a no-entry zone. “We will only allow vehicles with a drop pass or stadium entry pass to enter this stretch,” he said.

For the spectators coming through AK Deb Road, there will be designated parking spaces at Datalpara field, Champawati field, Ganeshpara field, Rangpathar field and GMC field. One side of the stretch between Dhirenpara Tinali and Ganeshpara field will be allowed for parallel parking.

On AK Azad Road, parking spaces will be provided at Arya College field, Birubari ITI field, Lutuma field, Saukuchi Wednesday market area and Pandukan field, besides parallel parking on one side of the road from Lalganesh to Saukuchi and Cycle Factory point to Barsapara traffic point. The stretch between Lalganesh and Barsapara traffic point will be a no-entry zone.

“We are trying our best to let the spectators reach as near as possible to the stadium in their own vehicles. We request everyone to follow the rules and help us manage smooth flow of traffic,” Bhuyan added.

Guwahati police said there will be no entry for all commercial vehicles from 8am till midnight on AK Azad Road and AK Deb Road.

Assam Cricket Association secretary Devajit Saikia said shuttle bus service will be available for spectators from the designated parking spots.
