Imphal, Sept. 5: Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union held Young Physique Union to a 1-1 draw to share one point each in the 11th Manipur State League, 2016, played at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Young Physique Union got the break when S. Chaoba Meitei was fouled by Tiddim Road player just outside the penalty box, resulting in a free kick.
Skipper Y. Kamando Singh send a curling ball which beat the diving Tiddim keeper for the goal in the fourth minute.
Tiddim Road Unique got the equaliser in the 26th minute when Th. Ratan Singh got the last touch of a goalmouth melee off a corner kick by L. Bikram Singh, to level the score 1-1 in the first half.
Young Physique players S. Sanjoy, M. Aboy and Tiddim Road Unique players S. Surchand and H. Piyabung were shown yellow cards
In another match, Anouba Imagi Mangal prevailed upon Southern Sporting Union by a solitary goal to collect full points.
The lone goal for Anouba Imagi team was scored by N. Pritam Singh in the 38th minute after collecting a long aerial ball from E. Abocha for the victory today. Southern Sporting Union player H. Ramananda Singh was shown a yellow card.
Imphal West first division: NC Club, Khonghampat, drubbed Group Centre CRPF 6-1 in the 23rd L. Sangita Devi Memorial First Division Football League, 2016, played at SKYC ground, Sekmai.
Noacha excelled, scoring four goals, while Suresh fetched one goal for NC Club. The lone goal for the CRPF was scored by James in the second half. Khonghampat player Jerom was shown a yellow card.
In another match, SAI RC thrashed Yaiskul Athletic Club 6-1. S. Chitaranjan scored two goals while Th. Poreiton, K. Sanatomba, N. Bipin and Ch. Commander fetched a goal each. The lone goal for Yaiskul team was scored by Ng. Rishikumar.
Badminton: Imphal East beat Bishnupur team by 3-2 sets to claim the team event title of the 35th Inter-district Badminton Championship, 2016, played at Kakching Sumak Leikai Indoor Hall, Kakching.
Super division football: BMSC Tabungkhok will take on Thangmeiband Athletic Union in the 17th S. Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League, 2016, tomorrow at SKYC ground, Sekmai. In the second match, Youth Development Organisation will face Chajing Inat Kanba Lup at 3.15pm.
Inter-college football: Aheibam Borchand Singh Memorial MU Inter-college Women & A. Pratap Singh Memorial MU Inter-College Men's Football Tournament, 2016, will be held at Manipur University from September 9 to 11 and Kakching Khunou College from September 12 respectively. The AMFA has named Jadavchandra Haobam and M. Ranidas Singh as commissioner for Manipur University and Kakching.
