1. Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani at Latasil
When: From April 13 to 16.
In its 57th year, Latasil Bihutoli will feature cultural programmes in the evenings. There will competitions for children, men, women, including Bihu dance, dhulia, Bihu rani, Bihu konwari and Bihu samraggi competitions.
Highlights: Performances by singer Apurba Bezbaruah and cultural troupes from Orissa, Manipur and Sikkim.
2. Pub Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani at Chandmari
When: From April 13 to 16.
Into the 47th edition, this Bihutoli at the Assam Engineering Institute playground is organising Bihuwati, marathon and cycle mara-thon. Educationist Pramode Chandra Bhattacharya will hoist flag on April 13.
Highlights: Performances by popular singers, including Manas Robin, Dilip Sarma, Sudakshina Sarma, Kula Baruah and traditional folk dances from other north-eastern states. The organisers hope to add a different colour to the programme with comedy shows by groups — Hi Huku and Tere Mere Beech Mein and parody songs.
3. Paschim Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani, Bharalumukh
When: April 13 to 16 at the Sonaram High School playground.

The Bihutoli, which is in its 54th year, will host sports events and other competitions for children and women.
Highlights: Singing sensation Zubeen Garg (on right), Dipen Baruah and flautist Deepak Sarma, will be the centrepiece at this Bihutoli. In keeping with tradition, there will also be folk-based programmes from Mizoram and Tripura besides Holi Nritya, Bhor Tal Nritya and Rabha Nritya.
4. Dakhin Pub Guwahati Rongali Bihu Sanmilani,
Rajgarh
When: April 13 to 15 on the Rajgarh Bihutoli premises.
Songs and dance programmes to keep your feet thumping. The programme will start with flag hoisting by former vice-chancellor of Gauhati University, Nirmal Kumar Choudhury.

Highlights: Performances by well-known singers Sandhya Menon, Kumar Bhabesh and Nirmali Das.
5. Rukminigaon Rongali Bihu Sanmilani
When: April 14 and 15.
Bihu husori and Bihu konwari competitions are the attractions of this Bihutoli. Besides modern dance, extempore, fancy dress, debate and quiz competitions will mark Bihu festivities. The superintendent of police (Kamrup), Debojit Hazarika, will unfurl the Bihu flag
Highlights: Singer Digantajyoti Baruah, who earned fame with his voice modulation ability, will perform here along with other artistes.
6. Khanapara Rongali Bihu Sanmilan
When: From April 13 to 16 at the Ganesh Mandir ground.
The celebration will start with flag hoisting by chief minister Tarun Gogoi. The programmes include All Assam Bihu Rani and Bihu Husori competitions. The organisers have arranged to take their Bihu festivities worldwide using the web.
Highlights: Performances by top artistes like Zubeen Garg, Dipen Baruah, Barnali Kalita. Be there for Manoj Baruah’s orchestra.

7. Mukoli Bihu by All Assam Students Union
When: On April 13 at Judges Field from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The programme will start with unfurling of flag by Bihu king Khagen Mahanta and followed by traditional Bihu. The organisers will felicitate 14 eminent personalities of Assam.
Highlights: Winner of Zee TV’s musical reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Debojit Saha (in picture right) and well-known Bihu dancers, including Jaya Seal, Junti Bharali, Purabi Gogoi, Sitarani Hazarika and Rekharani Hazarika are the star attractions at this Bihutoli.
8. Brihattar Japorigog Rongali Bihu Samilani
When: From April 14 to 18 at the RG Baruah Kalakshetra.
Stepping into its silver jubilee year, this Bihutoli has lined up dances and various competitions to keep the crowd enthralled. The vice-chancellor of Gauhati University, Amarjyoti Choudhury, will hoist the flag.
Highlights: Performances by popular singers like Zubeen Garg, Krishnamoni Nath, Krishnamoni Chutia, Barnali Kalita, Manas Robin, Sandhya Menon, Apurba Bezbaruah, Bidya Sagar.
9. Madhya Pub Guwahati Rongali Bihu Samilani
When: April 13 to 15 at the Nabagraha Kalimandir playground. Besides the usual Bihu dances and songs, this Bihutoli has organised pitha-making contest for women. Other competitions like quiz, art, extempore speech and debate will also be held.
Highlights: Dilip Sarma, Sudakshina Sarma, Bidya Sagar, Mousumi Saharia, Apurba Das and Padmanav Bordoloi will perform at this Bihutoli.
10. Pub Krishna Nagar Rongali Bihu Adorani Utsav
When: April 11 and 12 at Krishna Nagar.
Be there to participate in Bihu konwari, Bihu husori and fancy dress competitions.
Highlights: Performances by Manas Robin and other singers.
