Imphal, Jan. 21: Social Youth Union Club came up with a 7-3 goal win against Hockey Union in the 17th Under-16 Boys’ State Hockey Tournament at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium today.

However, the win does not benefit the Social Youths, as both teams have been eliminated from the tournament. Social Youth Union Club dominated the proceedings with three goals by M. Dhananjoy, M. Devranjan and P. Rakesh in the first half.

In the second half, Dhananjoy added three more goals while Devranjan fetched a goal for Social Youths.

Ksh. Priyobrata, Y. Chinky and M. Purnajit scored a goal each for Hockey Union.

Equestrian tourney

Chingkhei Hunba Polo made a clean sweep of the medals on offer in the tent pegging lance junior individual event of the 2nd IGAR (south) Cup Junior State Equestrian Championship held at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

E. Robin Singh bagged the gold with 28.5 points for Chingkhei Hunba (A) while A. Cemerun of Chingkhei Hunba (B) fetched the silver with 26.5 points.

Y. Suraj and L. Atangba of Chingkhei Hunba (B) scored 23.5 points and 20 points for the bronze.

In the tent pegging lance, senior individual category of the 8th DGAR Cup State Equestrian Championship, L. Olendro of Kangchup Road Youth Physical Sporting Association claimed the gold with 34.5 points.

Th. Momocha of Khurai PC took the silver with 33.5 points, W. Raupal of Kangchup Road Youth team and Th. Nanao of Meiraba PC fetched the bronze.
