Imphal, March 21: Tiddim Road Athletics Union forward Seikhohao Tuboi made all the difference when he booted the lone goal for his team against Youth Welfare Club at Thangmeiband Athletics Union ground today.

With the goal, the Tiddim team pipped Youth Welfare Club to take the lead in the second leg of the first Manipur State League, where All Moirang Football Association beat Manipur Police Sports Club 2-0 at Pangei ground in another match today.

Three minutes into the second half, Tuboi got the break when he collected a clean pass from the right flank and shot home the goal. Down by a goal, Youth Welfare Club seemed content with regulation play and did not go for the kill.

The Tiddim Road team now tops the tally with 24 points, remaining undefeated in eight games. All Moirang Football Association, who played as many matches, are second, also with 24 points. A better goal difference ensured the top position for Tiddim.

With the second leg of the league nearing completion, only two more matches are yet to be played. So, the battle for the league title will be between Tiddim Road and All Moirang Football Association.

But the Moirang team has the edge as it topped the tally in the first leg, ahead of Tiddim by three crucial points.

The other teams are Southern Sporting Union with 18 points, Youth Welfare Club with 14, Manipur Police Sports Club with 13, North Eastern Reorganisation and Cultural Association with 12, Eastern Sporting Union with nine, Phoudel Youth Club with six, Rengkai Athletics and Cultural Club with four, Kakching Football Club with three and SAI-RC with three.

Youth Welfare Organisation have no points yet.

The All Manipur Football Association suspended the Bishnupur team from the league on disciplinary grounds when the side failed to report for two consecutive matches.
