Guwahati, Dec. 10: River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre and Royal Rhino Club today registered identical six-wicket victories in their respective matches of the Ankurjyoti Challenge Cricket Tournament at Latasil ground here.
While River Rine tamed Noonmati Cricket Academy in the morning fixture, Royal Rhino Club got the better of Gandhinagar Bikas Sangha in the afternoon.
In the first match, put to bat first, Noonmati were bundled out for 89 runs in 18.2 overs and in their chase, River Rine romped home losing four wickets in 14 overs.
Taijul Islam (15), Gautam Bhattacharya (13) and Chandan Gogoi (12) were the only Noonmati batsmen to score in double digits while Arunav Sharma and Madhurjya Kalita of River Rine picked up three wickets each. Karthik Das notched up two for five.
For River Rine, Ranjit Kr Sharma topscored with an unbeaten 20 while 14 runs each came from the bats of Angshuman Das and Pranjal Sharma. Moon Kumar of Noonmati scalped three for 23 while Biju Sutradhar claimed the only other wicket for seven runs.
In the second tie, the Gandhinagar outfit opted to bat first and were all out for 108 in 17.3 overs. In reply, Royal Rhino reached 111 for four in 17 overs.
Rajib Sarma (24, 4x4), Giyas Ali (23, 4x3) and Prasant Boro (20, 4x3) were the notable scorers for Gandhinagar Bikas Sangha. Anand Sethia of Royal Rhino scalped three for 15, while Sikandar Basumatary and Bhargav Borkakoti picked up two wickets each.
For Royal Rhino, Chirag Agarwal topscored with an unbeaten 42 (4x5, 6x2). Another knock of 33 runs, laced with two fours and two sixes, came from the bat of Bitupan Deka. Rajesh Chetri of Gandhinagar captured two for 34.
Royal Star Club will meet New Star Club and Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre (B) will clash with Junior Friends’ Cub tomorrow.
