Pritam wins TT singles title

Pritam Paul emerged winner of the table tennis singles in the four-day indoor games meet of District Sports Association (DSA), Hailakandi, after defeating Tapash Paul at the DSA indoor stadium here today.

Hailakandi, July 13: Pritam Paul emerged winner of the table tennis singles in the four-day indoor games meet of District Sports Association (DSA), Hailakandi, after defeating Tapash Paul at the DSA indoor stadium here today.

In the doubles, Pritam teamed up with Manoj Sinha to beat Debanjan Choudhury and Arindam Nath for the title.

In other sports, Jaganmoy Dey emerged carom champion, defeating Hritwik Das in the juniors' event, while Enayet Hussain Laskar defeated Mridul Sarkar among the seniors. In doubles, Rahul Suklavaidya and Ashoke Kumar Dutta defeated Mridul Sarkar and Sujan Sinha for the honours.

In chess, Abu Sahi Choudhury defeated national-level player Chayan Palit for the title.

In cards, Samim Ahmed Laskar won the bray honours, defeating Manoj Kumar Das, while in call bray, Jahirul Haque Laskar defeated Kabir Ahmed Laskar.

In bridge, Niranjan Ghosh and Hiranmoy Mazumdar defeated Harshendu Nath Mazumdar and Nilanjan Das.

The prizes for the winners were given away by DSA working president Rahul Roy, secretary Saibal Sengupta, indoor games secretary Niren Tarat and others.
