Power output to go up

The Northeast is set for a surplus power production during the Eleventh Plan, according to officials of the Central Electricity Authority. A power output of 4,000 MW is proposed for the region.his requires a massive infrastructure planning, speakers at the sectoral meeting on power organised by the North Eastern Council for preparation of Vision 2020 said in Shillong on Monday.

Karbi council

Bajong Tisso was declared elected as the chairman of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in a special session at Diphu on Monday.

Farmers? year

Nagaland has declared 2006 as the year of farmers and urged the community to make agricultural production more market oriented.
