Aizawl: Mizo National Front (MNF) president Zoramthanga on Monday said his party, if it comes to power after the next Assembly elections, will give financial assistance amounting to Rs 3 lakh each to all families.
"Under the Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP), the MNF government will give Rs 3 lakh each to families for livelihood sustenance," the former rebel leader said while addressing a function at Kolasib on Monday.
"The people of Mizoram are determined not to vote for the Congress and are now shifting their attention towards the MNF, seeking development," he said.
The MNF president also accused the Congress government of misusing funds received from the Centre.
"The state government did not try to multiply the funds it had received from the Centre but misappropriated it because of which people are facing financial crisis. There is no development in any field across the state," he alleged.
A statement, issued by the MNF, said about 1,445 voters from various parties in Kolasib constituency were inducted by Zoramthanga into the party fold on Monday.
