
Kohima, Dec. 10: The 10-day Hornbill Festival, also known as the Festival of Festivals, concluded this evening at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, amid much fanfare.
The concluding day of the Hornbill Festival was graced by the president of Naga Hoho, Chuba Ozukum and special director Intelligence Bureau, ministry of home affairs, Rajiv Jain.
Apart from a plethora of cultural performances and renditions of folk songs, the final day of the festival had several competitions, including the popular Naga game - stilt bamboo walking, Naga King Chilli eating and Hipfest photo contests on the theme "Colours of Nagaland," held at the main arena, Naga Heritage Village in Kisama.
Declaring the competitions open, the minister for social welfare Kiyanelie Peseyie said the festival has become a popular annual event showcasing Nagaland's tradition and culture.
Three dance groups, Fusion Flippers, Elemenz and Faith in Action, enthralled with their special acts.
Thejano Ethel Kira, 8, of Little Flowers Higher Secondary School performed on the stage. Apfukru Dolie won the Hipfest photo competition and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
